Hello
๐๐ป๐ค I am...
Hi, Iโm Oren Robinson (they/any pronouns). I live on stolen Kumeyaay land, also known as san diego, california.

My family descends from English, Jewish, Celtic, and Germanic european settlers arriving on Turtle Island in the 1600s through the early 1900s. I was raised on occupied Onondaga, Seneca and Cayuga Haudenosaunee land in so-called central new york and western new york by a joint-custody family of activists, artists and dropouts.

I love making art, language, music, and mischief. I had early access to internet technology because of my family's proximity to the US military. My mom taught me to build my first website while I was in public high school, and my family also helped me to apply to college.
In college, I studied computer science, and learned much more. My fellow students challenged me to confront patriarchy and white supremacy: both the ways those systems shape things at a large scale, as well as in my own relationships.
During my time in college, I took courses and worked in mainland China for 2 years, immersed in other languages as a white US citizen in Shanghai, rural Sichuan, and Beijing.

For the past 15 years, I've gotten to play a part in software, graphics and communications projects to address violence and support care work in grassroots community efforts, co-ops, open source teams, nonprofits, political campaigns, mutual aid networks, etc.
I am currently program coordinator at Project on Youth and Non-military Opportunities (Project YANO).

I envision a just transition into worlds with no borders, with land back, with care not cages, abolition of prisons and policing, free Falasteen/Palestine, reparations, healing for survivors, and an end to violence, patriarchy, capitalism and all systems of oppression.
